With indoor, outdoor and veranda dining areas there’s plenty of seating choices suited to all seasons and personal preferences, whatever the occasion. Our fully licensed A La Carte restaurant is air-conditioned for the warmer months, while in the cooler months you can relax and get cozy by our grand open brick fireplace and indulge in a charming ambience of a bygone era to warm the heart and the soul.
As a destination restaurant we are open to the public Friday to Sunday and our delicious seasonal menu will take you on a journey around the world featuring contemporary Australian cuisine, international and Asian classics, gourmet burgers & pizzas and plenty of all-time favourites, with something for everyone. We use the freshest locally sourced, quality ingredients and organic and spray free wherever possible.

Our Chef
Our head chef Wayne Moore is a highly talented internationally trained chef with over 30 years of wide-ranging experience working in restaurant and hotel kitchens, as well as many years as head chef on some of the world’s largest superyachts travelling the globe.
With a deep appreciation and understanding of many different cultures, customs and cuisines resulting from his many years working and travelling abroad, he has developed an extensive repertoire and a wealth of diverse experience which directly contributed to his successes as a highly regarded professional chef working for the rich and famous as their private chef on their luxury superyachts, in their private residences and their holiday abodes.
Wayne’s culinary specialties and interests include Italian & Mediterranean cuisines, fish and seafood, classic French cuisine, traditional Thai, Japanese and sushi, desserts & patisserie, contemporary fine-dining, and homestyle comfort food using the freshest possible ingredients.
Wayne loves to create delicious meals sourcing fresh and seasonal and organic produce from local farmers and suppliers of the Capricorn Coast region as much as possible. His passion for great food coupled with his multi-disciplinary skill set is key to our diverse and high quality offering at Ferns Hideaway where you’ll find something for everyone, including those with special dietary requirements.
